The Vecta Contest group focuses on VHF and up contests, operating from high points on the Isle of Wight. The approach to contesting is about setting our own goals and having fun. The Vecta Contest Group welcomes new members of all abilities. Joining a contest group is a great opportunity to operate using legal maximum power with good station setup in a low noise environment. The Vecta Contest Group is also a great way of learning to improve operating skills and to learn more about various aspects of amateur radio such as propagation. Members support each other in building equipment such as antennas, linear amplifiers, digital voice recorders etc.”

Amateurs around the Solent area take part on these contest which are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Taking part is great introduction to contesting, operating from home or portable.
